No matter who you are, chances are that nurses have impacted your life in some way. Whether you, a friend or a family member has been cared for by a nurse, we know how hard they work to keep patients healthy. The first National Nurses Week was October 11-16, 1954 and marked the 100th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s mission to Crimea, where she cared for wounded soldiers in the war. Today, according to the American Nurses Association (ANA), there are roughly 3.1 million registered nurses in the United States.
Now, Nurses Week is May 6th – 12th (ending on Nightingale’s birthday) and is a time to show our gratitude to nursing professionals all over the country. Check out these gift ideas for your favorite nurses!
