Increasing Exposure for Your Next Awareness Campaign

October is approaching quickly, and as you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is no secret that symbols and promotional giveaways play a huge part in creating and spreading a message. Whether it is the pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness, the colorful puzzle pieces for Autism Awareness, Wear Red Day for Women’s Heart Disease Awareness, or the Teal Pumpkin Project for Food Allergy Awareness, symbolism is a growing trend in raising awareness for different causes.

One of the most effective ways to increase awareness is by utilizing unique products that attract attention and start a conversation involving the cause to be supported. Organized fundraiser events are a great place to get product in participant’s hands and spread a message with those who already have a connection with the cause.  By also including your organization’s name on these items, you receive brand recognition in addition to supporting a powerful message.

Themed giveaways are a great way to tie in the interests of your participants while increasing the reach of your message. Items like t-shirts, water bottles, towels, drawstring bags and headphones are popular items for a run or walk. By selecting product that appeals to the participants in the event, you increase the awareness due to the repeated use of the product.

Not hosting an event to raise awareness? You can still create buzz around an awareness movement by utilizing the space in your facility that your patients and customers see every day. Placing posters, banners and informational flyers or brochures around the most commonly visited areas of your facility ensure your awareness message reaches the broadest audience. Combining the use of print and promotional products to spread your message increases the message’s longevity, while also getting valuable information in the hands of those that can help spread your message.
